Lymphatic Massage

Lymphatic Massage also called lymphatic drainage is a technique for treatment of lymphedema, an accumulation of fluid that can occur after lymph nodes are removed during surgery, most often a mastectomy for breast cancer. Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a form of lymphedema therapy that focuses on removing blockages in the lymph system and promoting a healthy flow of lymphatic fluid. The lymphatic system has many functions, but one of the most important is acting as a recycling system by cleansing the body of bacteria, toxins, large proteins and excess water while defending the body from the spread of tumors and infections.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular Therapy is an approach to soft tissue manual therapy in which quasi-static pressure is applied to soft tissue to stimulate skeletal striated muscle. Often these areas of muscle are myofascial trigger points. Neuromuscular therapy balances the central nervous system (brain, spinal column and nerves) with the structure and form of the musculoskeletal system. Through applied knowledge of trigger points, neuromuscular therapy addresses postural distortion (poor posture), biomechanical dysfunction, nerve compression syndrome, and ischemia.

Reflexology

Reflexology is the application of pressure to areas on the feet. Reflexology is relaxing and an effective way to alleviate stress. The theory behind reflexology is that these areas correspond to organs and systems of the body. Pressure applied to these areas affects the organs and benefits the person's health. Several studies funded by the National Cancer Institute and the National Institutes of Health indicate that reflexology may reduce pain and psychological symptoms, such as anxiety and depression, and enhance relaxation and sleep. Studies also show that reflexology has benefits in palliative care of people with cancer.

Prenatal Massage

Prenatal Massage Prenatal massage is massage therapy that is especially tailored to an expectant mother’s demands. Prenatal massage is different from a regular massage because it demands that a new mother’s body has to be positioned as well as supported in the right way; this is achieved by utilizing pillows and some padding.  It relieves stress, takes away aches that are in the joints and the muscles, and lessens swellings in one’s arms and the legs. When options for relief during pregnancy are limited, prenatal massage fills the void effectively, and it also is a widely used, complementary therapy to treat back pain. Therapy of this sort has also been found to reduce anxiety and stress in pregnant women.

Lava Shell and Hot Stone Massage

Lava Shell and Hot Stone Massage:  While all types of massage can help relieve pain caused by tense muscles, stiff joints or injuries, a hot stone massage may provide greater relief due to the intense nature of the massage. Because the hot stones allow the massage therapist to penetrate deeper, you may find that a hot stone massage leaves you feeling physically better and relaxed.
